Wandered the Reserve to enjoy the morning sunshine.
These conditions encouraged songbirds into song and it was great to hear my first reed bunting of the year.
The obliging Hotel Pit bittern obliged, even for a passing throng of school children with clipboards and unfeasible enthusiasm and also a bird flew accross Ness Pit to briefly clamber up reed stems in full view before blending out of site.
A cetti's warbler sang from over near reedy hide and also to the right of Ness hide, where it did come close enough for a brief view.
Two harriers made a short visit to Ness Pit.
A barnacle goose was a handsome guest amongst the rugby featured greylags.
Good to have a chat with Don Davis after the weather has kept him away for so long.
A male smew was reported on Pursuit Pit and also someone was convinced tha a female was with it too??
